Wow, I've had such a good day today!
I started my day by going to the hairdressers and having my hair cut. It really needed it, and some of my family says it looks a bit like Molly's off Ghost - absolutely LOVE that film...brings me to tears at the end when Molly sees Sam and he disappears into the light..sniffle. Got carried away there, I'll put a picture up soon, then you can see what you think.
Second thing - I had the courage to go to the cinema with my friends. Being a very not-wanting-to-socialise-a-lot kind of person, this was a big thing for me. But I went. The film was weird...it was Meet The Spartans. It was the only thing on, it's not like I wanted to go and see it in particular or anything. Apparently it was based on a film called 300, which I've never seen. Some bits were funny, others were just disgusting and I think they took the "p" out of gay people, which wasn't very nice.
And I went shopping afterwards. It was great...and it means I can decorate some more t-shirts as it's creative, fun and I don't spend my time in front of the TV like some stereotype of what teenagers do these days. Where do these people who report this get their ideas about that, and the fact that teenagers are lazy and can't be bothered to get up in the mornings? Well, I am NOT lazy and as for my TV watching - I haven't been watching hardly anything, even Torchwood has had to remain in the DVD case recently. AAARGH! No Torchwood makes foliedevoix go...SANE! As the Simpsons said: "No TV and no beer make Homer go crazy" - that was my version of that.
Enjoy your Saturday!

A very funky day....
Teacher strike!!
OK, teacher strikes aren't anything to laugh about (unless they dress up in fancy dress and protest with ginormous cardboard signs, but I've never seen that!). But today, the year 10s get the day off because of it! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Everyone in my year is supposed to be revising for exams we've got tomorrow and the following week, but they all said "NO!" and said they'll just sleep in all day. ![]()
Me? I'm blogging. (No? Really?) It helps me take my mind off the pile of homework and revision that I've got to do (later). There's so much stuff I'd like to do today.....like sitting down and reading some sci-fi book I got out of the library and listening to the Police. Personally, I think Message in a Bottle has got to be one of the best songs ever!
News from my creative side....I've been picked to play the part of the Friar for my drama club's version of Romeo and Juiliet, and I've got to sign it as I'm speaking. Apparently I get to wear some monk's costume...I hope it's probably less hot than the bunny one I wore a couple of weeks back. Hold on a sec, I played a VICAR bunny, and now they want me to be a FRIAR??? Spooky....and cue the Doctor Who music in the background (the Torchwood one is great but it's too upbeat for the spooky theme!). Soeaking of Doctor Who, what the HECK have they done to the new theme tune???
I heard the original 60s one last night on one of my family's records, and I thought "Yeah, it's cool, and so is that funky instrument in the background, it began with m or something". Then I remembered the one for the series with David Tennant and Freema Aygeman, that was OK. But this one with Catherine Tate?!? It's beginning to sound like some of the rubbish they spill out of a computer to put into the charts (except without rappers talking about drugs and rape and stuff).
I shall be off now to check out other people's blogs....I say this every week, but that's what I'm going to do.
The truth of foliedevoix...
Hi again everybody...sorry for the delay in blogging, it was a very busy weekend for me. Well, actually I didn't do much, but I've been teaching myself to sing! AAAARGH!
Cover your ears - Oh, wait a sec, you can't hear it! And if you think I'll be singing songs by Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, and all those people who hang onto their notes for about twenty seconds or something...you're WRONG. HA! I do not do singing in that style -I don't listen to it (and can't stand it; no offense to any of you singers if you read this - highly doubtful, but I just don't like your music!) so will not sing it. There's this band called Mega City Four, actually they split up and then their lead singer died, but they wrote songs with lyrics that were good, and had a message like the grass isn't greener on the other side, so I've been trying to sing their songs. I must keep practicing, but if I want to pass my music GCSE, I might need to learn to sing as I'm doing this song I made up...and there's no one to sing it as it's a solo piece.
Anyway.... back to the title. In French, we were talking about how you should never use babelfish for your work as it gives you words that aren't even in the dictionary and scrambles everything up. Then I remembered before I started doing GCSE, I put "Vote Insanity" into the translation and it came up with...."folie de voix". Then I asked my teacher today...what does folie de voix mean exactly? She said: "Madness of voice".
So foliedevoix's message of "Vote Insanity", is actually saying "Madness of Voice". Now you know the mystery of my name! It's quite appropriate actually, with some of the crazy stuff I say. And this article is to inform anyone who doesn't realise already that I am NOT French!
Oh, the power of babelfish!
Fridays - and relaxation...
It's here....the weekend - foliedevoix is saved for another two days from the dreaded world they dare to call..."School"! Hehehe....and my homework list is very short too. I think I need to watch a good film or two to get into the weekend feel. Not Edward Scissorhands though...I love that film, but I cry every time I see it, and with all the crying I've done this week, I don't think that's a good idea.
Phew, school was nuts. It was literally yesterday, as we have a new seating plan which involved me having to sit next to a guy that threw things across the class and ate a packet of peanuts from under the desk. Gross....one because the smell of peanuts to me is disgusting, and two because it was in the science lab, and he could have been contaminated with chemicals.
.....bleurghh.
Also, for a proper chill out time, some 80s music has got to be played. I reckon a bit of OMD and Virgin radio's party classics will sort that out.
So, onto relaxation....................bwahahahahahaha. Yay - party, folie style. The only thing missing is some chocolate raisins, but what the heck...I'll live!
Foliedevoix's STRANGE day...and new look!
Wow, I didn't even realise blog had a different editor! Cool.....
Anyway, I am feeling happier than yesterday, so that's good. Yay. And I've got very little homework today, so that's strange. Stranger still, Mr. Evil was singing in class today!?!?!
This is a very weird day. ![]()
I don't have much to say for today, but I made another says-it.com picture to put up. If you haven't a clue what I'm on about, I put one on my group blog: welovetorchwood.blog.co.uk. Says-it.com is this random website where you can make signs that say whatever you want them to. This is one that I made:
I'm also going to take some pictures over the weekend - I've started doing photography in Art, and I'm going to need a lot of practice. My first photogram was completely black with one blob of light...completely rubbish, and my test strip supposed to show light to dark went: light grey, medium grey, black, black, black. Whoops! ![]()
Yes, so more photos with random messages are coming soon. Though I might have to rethink them....some people are under the impression that I support Norwich (Canaries rule OK!).
I was referring to Custard, but he probably supports them.
Okayyyyy...first new style writing is over. Better go and take those photos...
Foliedevoix's tearful few days...
If you read the title...yep, that's why foliedevoix has been offline - I have been crying. ![]()
First, I watched Series 3, Episode 6 of 2000 Acres Of Sky. Why does she keep on going on about this programme - it's not even on any more?? , you might say. Well, my family have it on DVD, and they said: "Do you want to watch it with us..it's really good!" Yes, I said...and now it's one of my favourite programmes.
Anyway....KENNY DIED! And before the question crosses your mind...no, I am NOT talking about South Park!!!
Kenny, one of the coolest guys ever on the programme, died of hypothermia or something like that when his "borrowed" fishing boat sank and he got washed up on a remote island near the island where he lives. Or it might of been the isalnd that he lives on...it wasn't too clear. His life passed before his eyes....
That started off the crying.
Today, it was P.E. Anyone who's read my previous blogs would know that I CANNOT do P.E. I go to catch a netball: I stamp on someone's feet. I go to swing a tennis racket: I nearly knock someone out. And today, for some reason we were playing rounders (in the cold...aargh). I couldn't bat, so that wasn't good, but when I was fielding, I was sent out to the far corner to be a fielder as my short role of backstop had earned the other team points. I threw the ball after failing to catch it, and it went in the opposite direction! I then ran to the ball, threw THAT, and it went another way, far away from the pitch. The other group are one of those groups of people who take delight of taking the "p" out of certain people. They accused me of being a time waster and giving them less time. I burst into tears and that lasted the rest of the school day. Wow, even Mr. Evil was concerned when I came into his lesson with red eyes and the sniffles!
Well, after all that crying, I need rest...so I will blog soon.
Back to GCSEs and my random life...
Hmm...school has sucked this week, if I'm honest. Well, you'd expect me to say that...I mean, the stereotypical teenager hates school. I don't exactly hate it..I just find it annoying and the immaturity of the people in it.
I've been told about various coursework I'm going to do over the next year..phew, if this is GCSE, don't even want to be thinking about A Levels yet!
I've been given homework to do all weekend, but then my week really got worse. My essay that I'd literally spent hours over, I handed in...and I got the comments list back. Mr Evil is so...critical! Apparently I can't even make a joke...it wasn't even a joke, just my way of not confusing everybody. I said "the writer ironically made a character say stuff about cowards, because he is one". And then I added in brackets: (the writer, not that character). Maybe it wasn't essential to put it in...but I tried to make my essay interesting. Now I've got to write it up. Thank whoever it was that invented weekends for weekends!
The school wind band is suffering. I'm the only person in my year that reguarly goes. This week's band consisted of...one flute and the clarinet (me). We only had a few sheets of music, all from different songs...and there was only one that had music for flute and clarinet.
Got to go now....it's an evening of chocolate raisins and Torchwood for me!
Tomorrow...noooooo!
AAARGH!!! The school hols are nearly over...

It's weird....I can't wait for the holidays, and then when they are here, I have lots of spare time on my hands. It's mainly been spent reading Robert Rankin books (Well, a book by Robert Rankin - the sequel to the Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse. Have you read it, bunnybunbunbun?
) and now my family have got me into watching Only Fools and Horses. If you read my blog a lot, you might think I'm some sort of TV addict or something. I'm NOT, I just have loads of spare time due to the fact I've done all my homework! Also, I've been watching 2000 Acres of Sky again. I'm only watching it at the weekends so I don't watch them all at once (it's on DVD). I've got up to the episode where Ida has to leave to protect Peter from being taken away by his dad. It's such a cool show...if anyone actually (still) watches it, let me know what you think (but don't give away any spoilers please!!). I'm really dumb at putting pictures on (see all blogs tagged with photos!) , so I can't put any pictures of it on here...and I don't know whether it's copyrighted...but it's a cool show.
I should really comment on someone else's blog now...I say that a lot, but it's only fair that some people should get comments too.
Have a nice day everybody.
Something to liven up this blog!
This is for all those canary owners out there....
OK, I don't think I'll ever get the hang of the turn-the-image-the-right-way-up thing!!
Canary owners...feel proud to own your canaries! They ROCK!
Custard will probably agree, and thank me for it by waking me up at six o'clock tommorow morning. Mais, c'est la vie.... ![]()
A random day in the hols...
...pretty much, yeah. I've kind of been avoiding my remaining homework...but now I've only got a few days left to do it. You know that holiday feeling when you think: "WOW! Two whole weeks! I've heaps of time to do loads and just laze around, because two weeks is so long!". And then you realise that you've only got a couple of days, and you've not really done a lot at all that you wanted to do. That's what it's like at the moment.
and (sob) it's the finale of Torchwood tonight! I hope they're making another series...because it's probably a long wait until Series 2 comes out on DVD. Whilst I've been waiting for the episodes to come on, I've had to refresh my memory with Series 1...which is brilliant, but Ianto has very little dialogue - and he's so much more involved in Series 2!
Also, I've been watching Red Dwarf again. It's been sat in the cabinet collecting dust since the beginning of Series 1 of Torchwood. Series IV of RD is my favourite. It's spooky, RD has quite a lot in common with Torchwood. I mean, they're both shown on BBC2 (the later series of Torchwood, not the first series in this case), they both have guns (but they tend to call them "bazookoids" in RD) and they both have really random woman robots with metal boobs! Lisa from Torchwood and Camille from Red Dwarf. If you can call a Cyberwoman a robot!
But Torchwood isn't set in the future, so they don't have the Inquisitor come and delete them from existence! That was Red Dwarf V, but it's about RD in general.
Random rambling there...
Ho hum.....better go and do something useful, or Mr. Evil won't be impressed if I turn up next week with no homework!
Enjoy your Friday everybody!
Beating the O.C.D!
I think I'm winning with my O.C.D! Yes, I went to see my doctor yesterday....he says he's going to reduce my medication (finally!) , and see how it goes.
Apparently, I'm a lot more confident than I was the last time I had an appointment. I've never been really confident, ever - there was a time where I couldn't talk to hardly anyone, and even if I did - I was looking at the floor. Also, I look better too. There was a stage in my life where due to stress, I was really underweight...I didn't know at the time, but looking through some old photos I could see it.
I think talking on my blog, going to my drama club and the cognitive therapy I've had have really helped me.

If Weevils were real, and O.C.D could be made solid...I'd set a Weevil on it and refuse to take it off, but for now I'm going to keep on trying. Yay!
O.C.D is going down!
