Lazy days and bad weather...

by foliedevoix @ Friday, 28. Mar, 2008 - 12:54:38 pm

...typical, isn't it? I mean, when you finally have a holiday, the nice weather has gone AWOL and instead leaves behind slushy sleet, rain and the cold to babysit. So I've been stuck inside, where I've found loads of random things to do that I've not done in a long time. Like sewing UB40 onto my t-shirts (Groovin' (Out on life) is such a great song!) and baking gingerbread from this cookery book I found. It doesn't taste like gingerbread, more like biscuits with a little flavouring of spice. Yes, I DID check what spice I was using beforehand, but maybe it's because I baked them in Yorkshire pudding trays and they all look weird.
Maybe I already mentioned baking...and I probably mentioned music too. Man, I really really hate most of the chart music that's on at the moment. It's got to the point where I can't even listen to the radio (with the exception of Virgin Radio most of the time - they keep playing songs like Rockstar and that's chart stuff at the moment)...they're just playing rap music and stuff that has no talent, but is processsed by computers. Like those songs that sound like little mice against some crappy dance tune. AAGGH!! 88| I prefer bands and singers that play their own instruments and can actually sing and have their own tune - so that you know it's them. Like Mike Oldfield - how can you confuse him with someone else nowadays? All those singers (which I cannot name or else I'll be sued or something) sound the same, all the -o-o-o-o-o-ooohs at the end of each sentence! C'est ne pas mon truc, as I think they say in France.
OMD, Madness, Eurythmics, The Beatles - all those good songs. You won't find me listening through some high tech phone listening to rap music or some X-factor winner at full volume so the whole street can hear it when I'm walking around. I'll be listening to UB40 on my CD player!

Monday...holiday!

by foliedevoix @ Monday, 24. Mar, 2008 - 09:56:06 am

Oh, I love being on holiday! That homework is sitting in my bag where it belongs until I feel up to doing it. :)) I finished my shows with drama club...the final night ROCKED....the audience went wild, and I swear I heard someone shout out "Go Bunny Go! as I was boogie-ing in the final scene. Ever seen anyone in a huge rabbit costume try to Eygptian dance? Like I said, I tried! I mainly just hopped and trod on peoples feet - I couldn't exactly see what I was doing, the eyeholes were like fish's eyes - one on each side. What the heck, I enjoyed it.
After that, the weekend was sprent making gingerbread biscuits from some book I'd forgotten about in the kitchen. I think it's called a cookery book! I also watched Torchwood (c'mon, it IS the weekend! Well, was.), 2000 Acres of Sky and Back To The Future! Which one's your favourite? I, II, or III? I like the all, but as II is futuristic and sci-fi I like that one best.
Music? Yes, I had time to listen to that too. That's the great thing about long holidays. I had time to listen to Goodbye Heartbreak from the Lighthouse Family about six times, and ditto that with David Gray's version of Say Hello, Wave Goodbye. Such cool songs....
Speaking of which, I found a CD by OMD in the cabinet that I hadn't listened to for ages. Electricity has got to be one of the best songs ever, you know, with that piano solo after each verse? At least I think it was a piano....Marmiteontoast knows I'm going to fail my music GCSE. I can't even count in time on my clarinet...and I'm supposed to be doing my Grade 4 in the summer. Those scales are really hard...something like C Minor? Crazy.
Oh well, hope everyone's had a Happy Easter.

This one's for bunnybunbunbun...

by foliedevoix @ Saturday, 22. Mar, 2008 - 10:48:10 am

I promised! Here is the picture of me gone bunny style. The collar is because the bunny was actually a vicar that was supposed to perform Cinderella's and the Prince's marriage, but didn't show up until the end. That costume was hot, but not as hot as the first time I wore it...so at least I'm getting used to fur now! I couldn't include members of the cast as I didn't have their permission to put photos on the internet...but I gave permission to myself! :))

Vicar Bunny

I couldn't get the whole costume into the photo..but what do you think? That's my Easter themed gift to everyone at blog!
Happy Easter everybody!

Chillin' in the holidays...

by foliedevoix @ Friday, 21. Mar, 2008 - 12:00:28 pm

....kind of. Make that yes, I haven't exactly done any homework, and that's my way of chilling. At least there's not heaps like they usually do in the half term. :))
Been clearing out my room. Found loads of puzzle magazines, but no Torchwood ones though - I can't find that on sale anywhere!
Hmmm....hasn't anyone heard of 2000 Acres of Sky? I guess my TV programmes are limited - I have better things to do than gaze at a box 24/7 like some of the lazy-teeenagers-that-can't-be-bothered-to-do-their-schoolwork-and-play-on-their-games-consoles-or-watch-late-night-tv kind of people some people think teeenagers are. 2000 Acres of Sky, Torchwood (obviously) and the occasional episode of Neighbours is all I watch. My DS is gathering dust with all the preparations for my drama club, schoolwork and imitating Torchwood phrases. Right now the words "Thomas Erazmus Flannigan" from Ghost Machine (Series 1, Episode 3) are said quite a lot...just randomly. (I don't have a clue if there is a real Thomas Erazmus Flannigan out there, but if there is - it has no reference to them...just a phrase from Torchwood!)
It's joined other random phrases such as "Chutzpah!" and "Rat Jam!", though "chutzpah" has never been said in Torchwood as far as I'm aware.
Oh, what I said about my drama club - something bad happening because I had such a great day yesterday? Well, it did. Nothing serious, like someone actually DID "break a leg". My bunny performance went alright...it's just the fairy godmother missed some of her song. Luckily it sounded like a big instrumental, and I don't think anyone was too aware that she'd forgotten her lines. It wasn't the biggest crowd.

Easter Bunnies...

by foliedevoix @ Thursday, 20. Mar, 2008 - 05:28:21 pm

Whoo hoo! School is officially over for me! Until the end of the holidays anyway. Sorry for the delay in blogging - my drama club have been working overtime to put on a performance. I've been making some props, and generally helping out with everything. But....I have also been dressing up as the Easter Bunny to come on in the finale! Whew, that costume is HOT! Before anyone says anything...it was a full body rabbit costume, NOT a bunny outfit like something out of Mean Girls, and HOT means boiling! I'll try to get someone to take some pictures, then I can do a rabbit themed blog for Easter!
Everyone has been so nice to me today! Mars bars in Art, those gold bunnies in French, lollies in form......even Mr. Evil said I could have the half term to finish my English coursework draft! :D Maybe that means that something might go bad in the show my drama club are doing tonight...or that might be just the pessimism!
Ah well, I'll blog when I have the chance...the show is going to go on for a long time.

Quiet Saturday...for once!

by foliedevoix @ Saturday, 15. Mar, 2008 - 12:25:24 pm

So far anyway. Usually it's not because I'm listening to Virgin Radio or the Lighthouse Family really loud...they're my favourite Saturday tunes. Well, latter's more of a lazy Sunday..but it's the weekend and I might not blog tomorrow..so what the heck.
Custard woke me up at half past six! Probably because it was light outside...though I don't know how he noticed through the towel over his cage. I've been painting some random cardboard cutouts for my Drama group....help! Help because the rehersals start Monday, I don't have enough cardboard to make them all, I'm running out of paint...and I have to dress up as an Easter bunny when I have no idea what to do!!! OK...calm.
Anyway....Friday was not like the Fridays foliedevoix usually has. For starters...no Torchwood! And second...no chocolate raisins! The only thing that I did that I usually do was watch 2000 Acres of Sky. It was that episode with the Rononsay run, and when they scattered Malcolm's dad's ashes. I should really get a poster of 2000 A.O.S sometime....though there isn't much room on my walls with the huge poster of Torchwood. Yes, I'm that sad....but hey.

Master of the Universe....

by foliedevoix @ Tuesday, 11. Mar, 2008 - 08:15:39 pm

Yep, that's my subject for today. After an hour and a half of German, I felt like watching some TV, so that's what I did. (Not that I don't like German - it just takes so l-o-n-g...!)
I saw the first half of Stephen Hawking's programme a few days ago, and the concluding part today. I didn't get all of it - in fact, all my family who watched it with me are complaining of headaches from thinking too hard whether the universe is one dimension or eleven! Ha ha ha....(no one ever laughs at my jokes(how depressing)) 88|
It was really weird though. Loads of different theories about how the universe was created...and so much physics! I can't stand Science classes but I like the idea of being a universe inside a universe. Apparently sone guy explained that in a huge library, our galaxy would be the size of a full stop in one book. Super freaky....considering the size of our solar system alone is tiddly inside our galaxy. It reminds me at the end of Men In Black, where it shows our planet, then zooms out to our galaxy until eventually space is in a marble that some alien-looking creatures are playing with!
:??: 88| :??: 88| :??: 88| :??: 88|
Maybe the Torchwood team will find out something mind-boggling about our own universe too...
Must get going...I have homework slowly building up.

Lazy Sunday....yeah right!

by foliedevoix @ Sunday, 09. Mar, 2008 - 12:42:08 pm

This isn't a lazy Sunday for me...if it was I wouldn't be blogging. I'd be eating chocolate raisins and watching Torchwood if I was (marathons, obviously.). There are some people who will be doing loads more things than me today - so I'm not saying: "Wow! Look at me! I'm so BUSY!". I've just been sorting out my wardrobe, doing the ironing and unsuccessfully trying to do some homework (but failing because it sucks!).
Yeah....I never really sleep for long on a weekend, so I suppose the morning was quite long. (Wait a minute, it's hardly the afternoon at the time I'm writing, but I don't really care!) I guess it's because the mental illnesses like the schizophrenia had kept me from sleeping for years - making me see faces coming out of walls and the devil men! Thankfully they hadn't showed up for a while, but there was a stereotypical red evil one that came just as I fell asleep last night. >:-[
It's kind of annoying.
Maybe I should go and explore other people's blogs now...or reply to those kind people who leave comments.

Nearly a week...

by foliedevoix @ Saturday, 08. Mar, 2008 - 10:18:03 am

...since I've last blogged. On foliedevoix, anyway. I completely slobbed out yesterday. I ate loads of chocolate raisins, and watched Torchwood! I have a big pile of homewrok sat in my bag, which is really casting a big black raincloud over my sunny garden, if you know what I mean. Acid raincloud, probably. I have to do a huge essay for Mr. Evil, and if I have to get a C (which I don't want), I have to do at least 500-600 words! And it's Shakespeare too. :'( It's so annoying.....and I've got German and French homework too. They're not as bad, but they're time consuming.
I thought I'd talk about TV shows today. I like TV shows like Red Dwarf, and 2000 Acres of Sky - a really odd mix coz I like The Goodies too!
Does anyone else like them? Please let me know and put a comment if you do.
My homework is calling to me, so iId better go!

Sunday and Folie...

by foliedevoix @ Sunday, 02. Mar, 2008 - 04:52:50 pm

...whoo. Yeah, another uninteresting blog title, but what the heck. My weekend's been quite good. An overdose of chocolate whilst watching 2000 Acres of Sky on Friday, followed by an evening watching Torchwood and then whatever was on BBC3 (some pop video countdown showing random stuff about singers. I don't know much about celebrities, but it was funny.) . Today, my family and I went out for dinner, so that was cool. But beforehand, all morning I was revising for exams and doing housework...it was good to take a break. ;)
So, who's seen 2000 Acres of Sky? I've only just started watching it....I'm on the 2nd series now. Please don't tell me anything about it yet, I'd like to know what happens in my own time. Kenny's my favourite character, but I think that salmon fisherman guy is really annoying.
Bwhahahahahahaha...I'll think I'll go and comment on other people's blogs now.
Have a good weekend everybody.
